Three years after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, this course examines the conflict through the lenses of history, culture, and international affairs. We will explore Ukraine’s distinct cultural identity, the reasons the United States and European nations have supported Ukraine, and the broader implications of the war for democracy and the international rules-based order. Drawing on the work of historians and policy experts, the course encourages thoughtful discussion of current events and participant-selected articles.
