While Hoover may always shoulder that ignominious blame, his lifetime is actually characterized by brilliant success and accomplishment first as a professional engineer and later as a talented political leader and statesman who left his mark on the world in countless ways that arguably eclipse the failures attributed to Hoover during the depression era.
