This lecture is an examination of various aspects of the Impressionism art movement. Reasons for the beginning of the movement, how it received the name “Impressionism,” impressionist methods of making art, and other items related to the context of the movement will be examined. The contributions from the major artists of the movement will be shown with PowerPoint and discussed by the class using formal and contextual criticism.
