Description

Breaking down ageism begins with a conversation. Emily, a 28-year-old millennial, leads an engaging discussion each month with topics on intergenerational subjects. Emily is the youngest of four children with a 17, 19, and 23-year age gap between herself and her older siblings. Growing up, her parents, now in their early 70’s, were always much older than her peers. As the “baby of the family” surrounded by so many adults—Emily has an “old soul” personality with bubbly Millennial flair! She’s far more knowledgeable on subjects and news events that occurred decades before her time than the average twenty-something-year-old. However, She can still enlighten her audience with answers to intriguing questions about modern trends that seem strange to the rest of us. Like what do all of the acronyms and emojis in texts mean? What are the latest trends on social media? What’s with Tik Tok videos? But she’s also interested in learning from YOU. What was it like growing up in a world without “smart” devices. What do you think about America’s youth growing up addicted to screens? She’s excited to engage with Oasis participants to talk about experiencing life at different stages and how those experiences have changed from generation to generation. Let’s have some good conversations with “The Talkative Millennial”!
