Description

Join us to explore the history and significance of the Great Wall of China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized as a masterpiece of ancient Chinese military architecture, technology, and art. Spanning 15 regions in northern China, the Great Wall is not a single continuous wall but a collection of fortifications built over 2,700 years. Construction began around 300 B.C.E. under Emperor Qin Shi Huang and continued through the Ming Dynasty, taking over 1,800 years to complete. This program will explore the rich history of the Great Wall, from its initial construction to its role in defending China against invasions. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the Wall’s cultural and historical significance, as well as its enduring legacy as one of the most iconic structures in the world.
