Description
In May 1940, Germany invaded France. The world expected a stiff French resistance and probably a German defeat. Instead, in one of the swiftest campaigns in military history, Hitler’s armies overwhelmed French defenses and won a complete victory in just over six weeks. This class will investigate how this could have happened and what lessons the French collapse might have for political and military leaders today.
